David Levinson, D.O.

Dr. David Levinson is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist; fellowship trained and specializing in medical and surgical diseases of the retina. Prior to joining Eye Physicians and Surgeons, he was a full time Attending Physician and Assistant Professor of the nationally recognized Department of Ophthalmology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.

His areas of expertise include pharmacologic and surgical management of age related macular degeneration, macular holes and puckers, retinal vein occlusions, central serous chorioretinopathy, retinal detachment, and diabetic retinopathy. He utilizes all forms of state of the art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including small incision, sutureless vitrectomy resulting in a more rapid, comfortable recovery.

Dr. Levinson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin. He attended medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated with honors in the top 5% of his class. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook University Hospital where he served as chief resident. He subsequently completed two retina fellowships; one in medical retina at NYU Medical Center and one in vitreo-retina surgery at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Levinson is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
