Dr. Faridi is a Board Certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in glaucoma and cataract surgery, specializing in innovative micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and advanced technology intraocular lens implants (IOLs). He is skilled in the latest MIGS, including the OMNI Surgical System, the Hydrus Microstent, the Xen Gel Stent, and the iStent trabecular micro-bypass system.
He has particular interest in medical management of glaucoma, state-of-the-art glaucoma laser treatment, advanced surgical treatment of complex glaucoma, and small-incision laser assisted (Femtosecond) cataract surgery. Dr. Faridi also enjoys performing routine and emergency eye examinations for adults and adolescents, including annual examinations and diabetic eye care.
Dr. Faridi joined Eye Physician and Surgeons, P.C. in 2012 after completing a fellowship program in Glaucoma at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Dr. Faridi went on to earn his M.D. from the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Faridi was selected for the residency program in Ophthalmology at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI, where he served as Chief Resident of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Faridi is active in clinical research, has co-authored numerous scholarly journal articles, has presented original research in glaucoma at annual meetings, and continues to publish in, and edit peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Faridi is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Science at the Yale University School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Glaucoma Society, and the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians.
