Yesterday, I had surgery for left posterior subcapsular cataract with IOL placement. Dr. Meskin did the surgery at the CT Eye Surgery Center in Milford, and today I am seeing beautifully, for the first time in three years. Thank you for this great gift. I had watched this particular procedure online and also various lectures online about it, to become better informed about what would happen during the procedure. I am an acupuncturist and energy medicine practitioner (qigong/qigong healing) and I did not want sedation during the procedure, so I could be present and aware of what was going on. It was the gift of a lifetime, to experience this surgery from this perspective. To me, it was very beautiful. When you are having surgery, you have a lot on your mind. Even someone who knows what is going to happen will be nervous, as you are allowing others to care for you and come into your energy, your body, and it is very personal. With surgery, you are trusting someone with your life and well being. Knowledge and skill are very important, but very important also, in any kind of healing work, is the mind and heart and energy of the doctor, the nurses, the anesthesiologist, staff... front desk people, everyone is important. I felt my experience at both the Clinic on Cherry Street and in the surgery center was very positive. Jan (Surgery Coordinator) took care of all the details and made what is normally a busy endeavor (appointments, follow up, instructions, consents, postop medications, etc. etc.) all very simple. They are super efficient in this way at the office on Cherry Street, but also in the surgery center, I felt peaceful, welcomed and relaxed. The staff at Cherry St. is also very knowledgeable, friendly and respectful. The surgery center is very clean, very peaceful, and organized. Throughout my stay there for a few hours, everything was checked and confirmed and checked again, by everyone who took care of me there that day. Although I did not have sedation, (my choice) the staff there, (Dr. Block) and the nurses are very attentive, thorough and answer all your questions. This is what you want if you need to have surgery. Most of my time there was spent in prep for the surgery, making sure things were done accurately, and very clean (impressively so). In the operating room, Dr. Meskin and his team make a warm and healing environment in a place where it can be a challenge to do so. The energy was peaceful, and I felt the caring energy of all of the team. The nurse anesthetist was wonderful and stayed right with me the entire time. All of them were great. You could really feel this energy, and it is very calming. This is extremely important in healing work of any kind, but to find it in the OR is especially special and a true gift. The surgery was less than 10 minutes, for the actual procedure. I did not have any pain at all, because of local anesthesia to the eye, which worked wonderfully. Dr. Meskin explained what he was doing the whole time. I felt like I was not just a patient/body on the table, but being worked "with" not "on." He is a very knowledgeable and confident surgeon, but also relaxed and extremely thorough. I was really amazed at how quickly he did this. This surgery is a real gift to me. Thank you, to all of you. I'd happily recommend Dr. Meskin to anyone, my patients, my friends, who need an eye doctor/surgeon. Today I am one day after surgery (just about 24 hours as I write this) and I can see better than ever, and my eye feels healthy and strong, better than ever. Thank you, to everyone!

I have been very happy with Eye Physicians & Surgeons. I have never had a billing issue. My appointments always started pretty much on time. I think the world of Dr. Seth Meskin. He's a great ophthalmologist, and has treated my eyes with great care. I highly recommend this practice.
